To cast or screen-mirror anything from your phone to a Hisense TV, the simplest way is the HiRemote app. It works on every modern Hisense smart-TV platform — VIDAA, Roku TV, Google TV, and Fire TV — over your local Wi-Fi, without needing AirPlay, Chromecast, or a platform-specific app. Free download, pairs in 30 seconds, no account.
Below: the HiRemote method first (works on every Hisense), then the platform-native alternatives if you prefer them.
Why HiRemote casts to every Hisense (and most other apps don't)
Most cast apps depend on the TV running one specific protocol stack:
- AirPlay needs Apple's licensed implementation — only some Hisense models from 2020+ have it.
- Chromecast / Google Cast needs Google's framework — built into Google TV models, missing on the others.
- Miracast / Anyview Cast needs the Wi-Fi Direct stack — VIDAA-only, and quality varies.
HiRemote handles all four by speaking each protocol natively: ECP on Roku TV, DIAL + Cast on Google TV, the VIDAA SDK on VIDAA, and ADB-over-TCP on Fire TV Edition. The app auto-detects which one your TV uses, so you don't have to know which Hisense platform you own. One app, one tap, four protocols underneath.
Method 1: Cast or mirror from iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch
- Install HiRemote from the App Store.
- Make sure your phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network. (HiRemote works over local Wi-Fi only — never sends anything to a server.)
- Open the app. Your Hisense TV appears in the device list automatically.
- Tap your TV to pair. (One-time PIN on Google TV; no PIN on Roku, VIDAA, or Fire TV.)
- Tap the Cast or Screen Mirror button in the app.
- Pick what to send: a video, photo, audio file, or your full screen.
That's it. No AirPlay required. No Chromecast required. No second app on the TV.
What you can cast
- Photos and videos from your camera roll — full quality, no re-encoding.
- Screen mirror — the whole iPhone or iPad screen on the TV in real time.
- Browser tabs — for streaming sites that don't have a TV app.
- Audio — music or podcast over the TV speakers / soundbar.
Method 2: Cast from Android (HiRemote on iOS, alternative path on Android)
HiRemote ships on iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS today. Android is on our roadmap. For now, on Android the simplest paths per platform are:
- Hisense Google TV: open YouTube / Netflix / Spotify and tap the Cast icon. Built-in.
- Hisense Roku TV: install the Roku app, go to Devices → your Hisense Roku TV → Photos+ / Music / Videos.
- Hisense VIDAA: use the Anyview Cast option (Settings → Network → Anyview Cast → On), then on Android: Cast Screen.
- Hisense Fire TV: install AirScreen from the Amazon Appstore on the TV. Then on Android: Cast Screen.
Method 3: Cast a specific app (YouTube, Netflix, Spotify, etc.)
If you only need to cast one streaming app — not your whole screen — the fastest route is the app's own Cast button:
- Open the streaming app on your phone (YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Spotify, etc.).
- Tap the Cast icon (it looks like a small TV with a Wi-Fi arc).
- Select your Hisense TV.
This works natively on Hisense Google TV (Chromecast built-in) and on Roku TVs that have AirPlay 2 (R7+ and R8+ models). On VIDAA, install the streaming app directly on the TV — most have native VIDAA versions.
Method 4: Mirror a Mac or Windows desktop
To send a Mac or Windows screen to a Hisense TV:
- Mac → Hisense with AirPlay 2 (VIDAA 2020+, Roku R7+): Control Center → Screen Mirroring → pick your TV.
- Mac → any Hisense: HiRemote on iPhone or iPad can mirror a connected Mac display through AirPlay-to-iPhone-to-HiRemote bridging (we automate this in the app's Pro tier).
- Windows → Hisense: Action Center → Connect → pick your TV (uses Miracast on VIDAA, Anyview Cast on others).
Quick compatibility reference (platform native casting only)
| Hisense platform | AirPlay 2 | Chromecast | Miracast | HiRemote |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google TV (2021+) | Via app | Built-in | Yes | Yes |
| Roku TV (R7+, R8+) | Built-in | No (use Roku app) | Yes | Yes |
| VIDAA (U-series, ULED, 2022+) | Yes | No | Anyview Cast | Yes |
| Fire TV | Via AirReceiver app | No | Yes | Yes |
The HiRemote column is the only one that's "yes" everywhere — because the app speaks the protocol your TV uses, regardless of which Hisense platform it runs.
Casting tips that apply to every method
Both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi
This is the #1 reason cast fails. If your phone is on the 5 GHz band of a band-split router and the TV is on the 2.4 GHz band, they don't see each other. Either: connect both to the same band, or merge the bands in your router settings (most modern routers support this).
Volume controls
When you're casting, the volume buttons on your phone don't always control the TV — they sometimes control your phone's media volume instead. The HiRemote remote screen always has volume controls that work directly with the TV.
Quality / buffering
If a cast looks blurry or stutters: move the router closer, switch the TV to Ethernet, reduce competing Wi-Fi traffic, or downgrade the streaming quality in the app.
FAQ
Does Hisense TV support Chromecast?
Only Hisense Google TVs have Chromecast built in. Hisense VIDAA, Roku TV, and Fire TV do not — they speak different protocols. The HiRemote app casts to all four platforms, including the three without native Chromecast.
Can I cast to a Hisense TV without AirPlay?
Yes. AirPlay is only one of several casting protocols. HiRemote casts and screen-mirrors over Wi-Fi using the native protocol for each Hisense platform, so AirPlay support on the TV is optional.
How do I screen mirror my iPhone to a Hisense TV?
Open HiRemote, pair with your Hisense TV (30 seconds, no account), then tap Screen Mirror. Works on every Hisense smart-TV platform regardless of AirPlay support.
Why does casting work on my friend's Hisense but not on mine?
Different Hisense platforms support different casting protocols. Your friend probably has a Google TV model (Chromecast built in) while yours might be VIDAA or Roku TV. The HiRemote app removes this difference — it adapts to whichever platform your TV runs.
Can I cast Netflix to a Hisense TV?
Netflix has a native app on every Hisense smart TV from 2018+ — open it directly on the TV. If you want to start playback from your phone, use the in-app Cast button on Hisense Google TV or use HiRemote to launch the Netflix app on any Hisense platform.
