These are our terms. If you use HiRemote, you agree to them. We've tried to keep them short and human.
The deal
HiRemote is a free iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac app that turns your device into a remote control for your Hisense TV (VIDAA, Roku TV, Google TV or Fire TV Edition). We provide it as-is. You use it at your own risk. If your TV catches fire because of cosmic rays during a button press, we are sad for you but not legally responsible.
Pro subscription
Pro is an annual subscription. Pricing starts from $9.99/year (USD) and varies by region — Apple localises the price for your country and shows the exact amount in the App Store before you confirm. Pro unlocks the Apple Watch app + complications, Lock Screen + Home Screen widgets, and removes the small “Get Pro” strip from the bottom of the free app.
Apple handles the payment, the renewal and the cancellation. Manage your subscription in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Refunds go through Apple, not us — we have no ability to issue them, but Apple is generally generous if you ask within 7 days.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer the app to build a competing product (the App Store license already covers this)
- Use the app to control a TV you don't own or have permission to control
- Try to flood the TV with commands to brick it (the LAN protocol has rate limits anyway)
- Resell access to the app
Trademarks
Hisense, VIDAA, Roku, Google TV, Fire TV, Apple, App Store, and all related logos, icons, and product names are trademarks of their respective owners. The use of third-party trademarks (including logos and icons) on this site does not indicate any relationship, sponsorship, or endorsement with the respective trademark owners.
HiRemote is an independent third-party app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Hisense Group, Roku Inc., Google LLC, Amazon, or Apple Inc. The app communicates with Hisense smart TVs using publicly-documented network control protocols that those platforms expose to third-party developers.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to the app is capped at the amount you have actually paid us through your App Store subscription in the past 12 months. For free-tier users that amount is zero.
Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. If the change is material (i.e. actually affects you), we'll note it in the next app release. Continued use of the app means you accept the new terms.
