These Terms of Service apply to:
- the HiRemote mobile application for iOS, iPadOS, watchOS and macOS (the “App”); and
- the website at https://hiremote.app, including any interactive web remote available on it (the “Website”).
Together we refer to them as the “Services”. By installing, accessing or using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. The Services
The App turns an Apple device into a remote control for compatible Hisense televisions running VIDAA, Roku TV, Google TV / Android TV, or Fire TV. Communication between the App and the television takes place over the user's local network using protocols published by the respective platform operators.
The Website provides marketing and support content, and may provide an interactive web-based remote that transmits Roku control commands from the visitor's browser directly to a television on the visitor's local network. The Website operator does not relay or receive those commands.
2. Subscription
Certain features (“Pro Features”) are available through a recurring paid subscription offered as an in-app purchase processed by Apple. The available plans, billing periods and prices are displayed by Apple in the App Store purchase sheet immediately before confirmation.
Auto-renewal.The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the same price, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancellation is performed in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on the user's device. Cancellation prevents the next renewal; access to Pro Features continues until the end of the period already paid for.
Free trials. If a subscription is offered with a free introductory period, it converts automatically to the standard recurring price at the end of that period unless cancelled beforehand.
Refunds. All payments are administered by Apple. We do not process payments and cannot issue refunds. Refund requests should be submitted via https://reportaproblem.apple.com.
Price changes.If we change the price of an active subscription, Apple will request the user's affirmative consent before the next renewal at the new price.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except where applicable law expressly permits this;
- use the Services to control any television or device you do not own or do not have explicit permission to control;
- transmit commands at a rate intended to overload or damage a television;
- circumvent rate limits or other technical measures;
- resell, sublicense, lease or otherwise commercialise access to the Services, except as permitted by Apple Family Sharing;
- use the Services in any manner that violates applicable law or infringes the rights of any third party.
We may suspend access to Pro Features in the event of fraud, abuse, or material breach of these Terms.
4. Trademarks
“Hisense”, “VIDAA”, “Roku”, “Google TV”, “Android TV”, “Fire TV”, “Apple”, “App Store” and any associated logos are trademarks of their respective owners. HiRemote is an independent third-party product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Hisense Group, Roku Inc., Google LLC, Amazon.com Inc., or Apple Inc. The App communicates with television sets using protocols that those platform operators have made available to third parties.
5. No warranty
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every television model or firmware version, or compatible with every network configuration.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue or data, arising from use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is capped at the amount the user has paid to Apple in respect of the subscription in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD 25, whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where applicable law does not permit such limitation.
7. Termination
A user may stop using the Services at any time by uninstalling the App. We may suspend or terminate access in the event of fraud or material breach of these Terms. Subscription cancellation is governed by Section 2.
Sections 4, 5, 6 and 8 survive termination.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, surfaced in the App at next launch. Continued use of the Services after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
