Six things that fix the most common issues
App can't find my Hisense TV+
Make sure your phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network — not the 5GHz band of your phone vs. the 2.4GHz of the TV, not guest Wi-Fi vs. main, and definitely not phone-on-cellular. The TV must also have 'Network access for mobile apps' enabled (the menu name varies by OS — see your specific platform page below).
TV is found but won't connect+
On Google TV: there's a 4-digit PIN that appears on the TV — type it into the app. On VIDAA: hit 'Allow' on the TV's first-time prompt using the original remote OR the chassis power button. On Roku: connection is automatic; if it fails, your router probably has AP isolation enabled.
Power button doesn't turn the TV on+
TV needs to be in 'Quick Start' or 'Always-on networking' mode for wake-on-LAN to work. Settings → System → Power → Quick Start (or 'Fast Start') → ON. On some older Hisense models this feature is buggy — power-on with the original remote and only use the app while the TV is awake.
App keeps disconnecting after 30 seconds+
Your phone is dropping the local network connection because iOS is aggressive about background Wi-Fi. Settings → HiRemote → Local Network → On. Also disable Low Power Mode while using the app.
Apple Watch app doesn't see the TV+
The Watch needs to be paired to a Pro subscription on the iPhone. Open HiRemote on iPhone → Settings → tap 'Restore Purchases'. Watch app then auto-syncs within 30 seconds.
I bought Pro but it's not active+
Open the app → Settings → 'Restore Purchases'. If that doesn't work, force-quit the app, wait 10 seconds, reopen. If it still doesn't activate, email support@hiremote.app with your Apple ID receipt — we can check the StoreKit status from our end.
Still stuck?
Email a description of what you're seeing — including your TV model number (Settings → About → Model) — and we'll usually reply within a day. Bug reports become release notes.
