- Turn the TV on. Use the set's power button if the remote is blank.
- Press and hold SETUP until the red light stays on. Release SETUP. The light may be a small LED or the power key itself.
- Press TV. The light should blink once and stay on.
- Type one 4-digit code. Start with 0671 on Hisense.
- The light turns off when the remote accepts the code.
- Aim at the TV and press Power.

Write down the code that works. GE remotes forget it when batteries sit dead for weeks. Test volume, not just Power. The first hit is often a partial match.

Method 2: Run GE auto-search without a code

- Turn the device on by hand. Jasco asks you to do this first.
- Hold SETUP until the red light stays on. Release SETUP.
- Press TV (or DVD, CBL, SAT, AUX, AUD for another device). The light blinks once and stays on.
- Point at the TV. Press Power once. The remote sends ten codes. The light blinks once per code.
- Did the TV turn off? If no, turn it back on and press Power again for the next ten.
- If yes, press Volume Up once. Wait about three seconds. Jasco uses that pause so the set can react.
- Keep tapping Volume Up until the TV turns off again. That picks the winning code from the batch of ten.
- Press TV once to store it. Do not use SETUP to save on this flow.
- Test volume, mute, and input. If keys feel wrong, start over and take the next match.
Volume Down steps backward through the same batch. The red light flashes twice at the first or last code in a group of ten. If your printed booklet says to tap Power once per code, follow that booklet. Older GE units use the one-code-per-press method. Jasco's current page uses the ten-code batches above.
When this will not work: the IR LED is dead, something blocks the sensor, or you need app keys. Point your phone camera at the front of the remote and press Power. No faint flash means new batteries first, not another search. A Hisense Roku TV may still take power and volume from a match. It will not give you the purple home grid.
Auto-search still only buys infrared power and volume. If you need Home, OK, and a keyboard, open HiRemote, join the same Wi-Fi as the TV, pick your Hisense model from the compatibility list, and follow the pairing prompts.
