To screen share on iPhone to a TV, open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, and pick the TV. Phone and TV need the same Wi-Fi. If no TV appears, use an HDMI adapter or turn on AirPlay on the set first. A remote app does not throw the iPhone picture.
I run this on an iPhone 14 next to a Hisense Roku TV in the R-series, and on a VIDAA U7 in the other room. Control Center finds the Roku set when AirPlay is on. The U7 needs the TV awake on the same network first. When the plastic remote is in the couch, I open HiRemote for Settings and HDMI — not for the iPhone picture.
The 30-second test
Do this before you change TV menus. The test tells you which path to take.
- Put the iPhone and the TV on the same Wi-Fi, not a guest network.
- Wake the TV so the home screen is up.
- Open Control Center. On Face ID phones, swipe down from the top right. On a Home-button iPhone, swipe up from the bottom.
- Tap Screen Mirroring. Wait a few seconds for names to load.
If your TV name appears, go to Method 1 and tap it. If the list stays empty, skip to Method 2 for a cable, or Method 3 to turn AirPlay on. Need the Hisense menus and the remote is gone? Use Method 4.
Method 1: Screen share from Control Center
Screen share on iPhone to a TV starts in Control Center. Apple calls this Screen Mirroring. The phone sends the whole display over AirPlay.
- Open Control Center as in the test above.
- Tap Screen Mirroring.
- Tap the TV name.
- Type the AirPlay code if the TV shows one.
- Stop later from the same Screen Mirroring tile.

AirPlay fails when the TV has no AirPlay receiver. Many Hisense Roku TVs have it. Many Fire TV Edition sets do not. A blank Screen Mirroring list is the tell. Do not keep refreshing. Move to a cable.
Sharing a FaceTime call is a different job. That tile sends a window to the call, not to the TV.
Method 2: Use a Lightning or USB-C HDMI adapter
A wired adapter screen shares the iPhone when AirPlay is missing. I use this on the VIDAA U7 when Control Center stays empty.
- iPhone 14 and older: Lightning Digital AV Adapter, then an HDMI cable.
- iPhone 15 and newer: USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter, then HDMI.
- Plug HDMI into the TV.
- Switch the TV to that HDMI input.
The cable works with no Wi-Fi. Some streaming apps block the HDMI path and show a black frame. AirPlay or the TV’s own app is the workaround for those titles. Keep the adapter powered if the picture flickers.

Method 3: Turn on AirPlay on the TV first
Some TVs hide from Control Center until you enable AirPlay on the set. Do this when Method 1 shows an empty list and you still want wireless.
On a Hisense Roku TV, press Home, then open Settings → Apple AirPlay and HomeKit. Turn AirPlay on. Go back to Control Center and tap Screen Mirroring again.
On VIDAA, look for an AirPlay name after the TV is awake on the same Wi-Fi. If no AirPlay row is on the VIDAA Settings list, skip wireless. Use the HDMI adapter.
Fire TV Edition and many Google TV sets skip AirPlay. For Fire, use a cable or the steps on Display Mirroring from iPhone to Fire TV. iPhone cannot use Android-style Miracast. Roku’s own “Screen mirroring” row is for Android and Windows, not iPhone.
Method 4: Use HiRemote to open the TV menus
HiRemote is a Hisense TV remote on your iPhone. The app does not screen share. Use it when you need Home, Settings, or Source and the plastic remote is gone.
- Put the iPhone and the Hisense TV on the same Wi-Fi.
- On VIDAA, open Home → Settings → Network → Mobile Phone Remote Control and turn it on.
- Download HiRemote. The App Store name is Remote for Hisense Smart TV. The app needs iOS 16.0 or newer.
- Open the app and pick your Hisense model from the list.
- Follow the pairing steps. The app talks to the TV over Wi-Fi.
- Use the D-pad to open Settings or change HDMI, then return to Method 1 or 2.

Very old VIDAA builds (VIDAA 3.0 or earlier) do not expose the network control API. Guest Wi-Fi will not see the TV. On a Hisense Roku TV, the browser remote can change inputs without installing anything. Other TV brands need Method 1 or Method 2. HiRemote is Hisense-only.
