You can mirror an iPhone to a Firestick, but not with AirPlay. Fire TV has no AirPlay receiver. Use a Lightning or USB-C HDMI adapter for a full screen, or cast from an app that already runs on Fire TV. Built-in Screen Mirroring is for Android phones only.
I ran this on a Fire TV Stick 4K in the living room, HDMI 1, and on a Hisense Fire TV Edition in the bedroom. My iPhone 14 never appeared under Fire TV Screen Mirroring. A Lightning Digital AV Adapter put the whole phone on the TV in about ten seconds. The iPhone 15 needed Apple's USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter instead.
The 30-second test
Do this before you hunt for a wireless fix. It tells you which path below is real for your setup.
- Open Control Center. Tap Screen Mirroring. If you only see Apple TVs and speakers, the stick will not appear. That is normal.
- Look at the TV home screen. Continue watching and Prime rows mean Fire TV. A Discover bar means Hisense VIDAA with a stick in HDMI.
- Check for a free HDMI port. HDMI is the only official full-screen path for iPhone.
- Confirm the iPhone is not on guest Wi-Fi. Guest networks block most app casts.
If Control Center hides the stick, you did not miss a setting. Fire TV Screen Mirroring is an Android tool. iPhone uses AirPlay. Those two do not meet.

If this is a Hisense Fire TV Edition, or a Hisense with the stick on HDMI, you still need a remote to switch inputs and open Settings. HiRemote is the Hisense remote (4.4 from 1,100+ ratings). Method 1: Plug in a Lightning or USB-C HDMI adapter
This is the official Apple path. It shows the whole iPhone, including Control Center and apps with no Cast button. It does not use Fire TV software at all.
Pick the adapter that matches your phone:
- iPhone 14 and earlier: Lightning Digital AV Adapter plus an HDMI cable.
- iPhone 15 and later: USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter plus an HDMI cable.
- Plug the HDMI cable into a free HDMI port on the TV.
- Plug the other end into the Apple adapter.
- Plug the adapter into the iPhone. Some adapters need power in the extra port.
- On the TV, switch the input to that HDMI port.
- Unlock the iPhone. The screen should appear on the TV.

When it will not work: the Fire Stick is using your only HDMI port. Unplug the stick or add an HDMI switch. Cheap no-name adapters often show no signal. Apple's adapter is the one I trust. Keep the phone unlocked. A locked iPhone can sit on a black frame.
This path bypasses the stick. You are watching the iPhone, not the Fire TV home screen. That is the tradeoff, and it is the one that actually works.
Method 2: Cast from one app, not the whole Home Screen
You often do not need a full mirror. YouTube and many streaming apps can send one video to the Fire Stick. That is not the iPhone Home Screen. It is still what most people want.
- Put the iPhone and Fire Stick on the same Wi-Fi. Not guest.
- Open the app on the Fire Stick, or leave Fire TV on the home screen.
- Open the same app on the iPhone.
- Tap the Cast or TV icon. Pick the Fire Stick.
- Play the video on the phone. It should start on the TV.
There is no system-wide Cast on iPhone. Each app decides. Safari pages and the Home Screen will not appear this way. If the Fire Stick is offline, the app cannot see it.
When it will not work: the app has no Fire TV target. The iPhone is on a guest network. You signed into different accounts. Photos and the camera roll usually need HDMI instead.

Method 3: Turn on Fire Stick Screen Mirroring (Android only)
Do this once so you stop blaming your iPhone. Amazon's built-in Screen Mirroring is for Android phones. An iPhone will not appear in that list.
- Press Home on the Fire Stick remote.
- Open Settings > Display & Sounds.
- Turn on Enable Display Mirroring. On some Fire OS builds it sits under Display > Screen Mirroring.
- On an Android phone, open the Quick Settings tile for Cast, Smart View, or Screen Cast and pick the stick.
- On iPhone, open Control Center > Screen Mirroring. The stick will not be there.

When it will not work: you have an iPhone. That is not a setting you missed. A third-party AirPlay receiver from the Amazon Appstore can show an iPhone wirelessly. Quality, ads, and prices change, and I will not walk through one I will not stand behind. HDMI is the wireless-free path I use.
Same Wi-Fi is still required for any wireless attempt. A 5 GHz / 2.4 GHz split can hide the stick from Android too.
Method 4: Switch HDMI and control a Hisense with HiRemote
HiRemote does not send the iPhone screen to the Fire Stick. It is a Hisense TV remote. That still matters if the stick is plugged into a Hisense, or if your "Firestick" is a Hisense Fire TV Edition with no dongle.
On a Hisense Fire TV Edition, the Fire TV software is built into the TV. You still cannot AirPlay. You can use HDMI or app cast, and you can drive the TV from your phone.
- Put the iPhone and the Hisense on the same Wi-Fi.
- Download HiRemote (listed as Remote for Hisense Smart TV) and pick your Hisense Fire TV model.
- Follow the pairing steps. The app talks to the TV over local Wi-Fi.
- Use the D-pad to open Settings, switch HDMI, or launch YouTube or Prime Video.
- Use the keyboard when an app asks for a password.
