Method 3: Run the 991 auto code search
If neither listed code works, the RC64 guide’s code search cycles through stored TV codes. It can take a while — up to about 30 minutes per the manual — so go one press at a time.
- Turn the TV on. Slide MODE to TV.
- Hold MUTE and SELECT until the green light blinks twice.
- Enter 991, then press 1 (the ID for TV).
- Press PWR (or leave power as the test function).
- Aim at the TV and press CH▲ once. Each press sends the next code.
- When the TV powers off, press SELECT to lock the code.
Honest warning: if you hold CH▲ or tap too fast, you can skip past the match and start over. One deliberate press per second is the safe pace. Press CH▼ if you need to step back one code.
