Dish remote TV codes are 3-digit numbers from DISH's booklet or help pages. Turn the TV on, hold SAT until the mode lights stay on, press TV, type the code, then press #. No list? Run auto-search or open Settings and Remote Control on the receiver. Hisense Roku sets ignore these infrared codes.
I programmed a DISH 50.0 remote to a Hisense U6 in the living room. Auto-search shut the TV off after a string of UP presses. The same clicker never moved my Hisense R6 Roku TV. Roku Hisense sets ignore infrared, so a DISH remote is the wrong tool there.
The 30-second test: which DISH remote do you have?
Flip the remote over and read the model in the battery bay. Current DISH remotes ask for a 3-digit TV code after you hold SAT. Voice remotes such as the 54.0 often have no SAT button. Use the receiver menu for those.
Decide what you actually need before you type codes:
- Power and volume only: a DISH code is enough on most VIDAA and Google TV Hisense sets.
- No SAT button: skip to Method 3 and use the DISH receiver menu.
- Purple Roku home screen: stop. No DISH IR code will program that TV.
- Netflix, Home, or a real keyboard: a code will not get you there. Use your phone.

Method 1: Enter a 3-digit DISH TV code
Manual entry is the fastest path when your remote has a SAT button. DISH remote user guides start TV setup with SAT, then TV, then a 3-digit code and #.
Our Hisense tracker does not list DISH yet. We will not invent a Hisense DISH number. Take the 3-digit code from the booklet or from DISH's official help. For GE, RCA, or Spectrum Hisense numbers, use the Hisense TV remote codes list instead.

- Turn the TV on. Use the set's power button if the remote is blank.
- Press and hold SAT until the mode lights stay on.
- Press the TV button. That button should stay lit.
- Type the 3-digit code from the booklet or DISH help.
- Press #. The TV button blinks a few times if the remote accepts the code.
- Aim at the TV, not the DISH box, and press POWER.
- If the TV turns off, test volume and mute. Then stop.
- No response? Repeat from step 2 with the next code in the booklet.
Write down the code that works. DISH remotes forget it when batteries sit dead for weeks. Samsung, LG, Vizio, and Sony codes belong in DISH's own lookup. We will not invent those tables.
When this will not work: there is no SAT button, the TV is a Hisense Roku model, or you need the Hisense home screen. A working code still only gives power, volume, mute, and sometimes input.

Method 2: Run DISH auto-search without a code
Auto-search walks the remote through stored TV codes for you. Use it when the booklet codes fail, or when you do not own a Hisense.
- Turn the TV on.
- Hold SAT until the mode lights stay on.
- Press TV.
- Press POWER once.
- Press UP once. Wait a second. Watch the TV.
- Keep tapping UP until the TV turns off.
- Press # right away to lock that code.
- Press POWER to turn the TV back on. Then test volume.
Go one press at a time. If you mash UP, you skip past the match and start over. Auto-search can take several minutes. If POWER works but volume does not, you landed a partial match. Keep searching.
When this will not work: Hisense Roku TVs ignore the infrared codes auto-search sends. A dead IR LED also fails the search. Point your phone camera at the front of the remote and press POWER. No faint flash means new batteries first, not another code.
Method 3: Program the remote from the DISH receiver
Hopper, Joey, and Wally boxes can push a TV code for you. This is the path when the remote has no SAT button.
- Turn the TV and the DISH receiver on.
- Press MENU on the remote.
- Open Settings, then Remote Control.
- Look for Program Remote or TV.
- Choose TV, then pick your brand. Pick Hisense if that is your set.
- The box sends a code and asks if the TV turned off. Answer honestly so it can try the next one.
Menu names move around by receiver year. If you cannot find Remote Control, use Method 1 or DISH's official help pages. The box programs the same IR TV control. You get power and volume, not the smart-TV home screen.

Fix 1: When no DISH code works
When every code and auto-search fail, the problem is rarely a missing number. Work through these in order.

- Fit fresh batteries. A weak LED confirms a code at two feet and dies from the couch.
- Aim at the TV. Newer DISH remotes talk to the Hopper without pointing. TV power still needs a clear shot at the screen.
- Wipe the IR window. The dark dot on the Hisense bezel collects dust. A soundbar can block it.
- Accept the limit. A programmed DISH remote will not open VIDAA, Google TV, or Roku apps. For that, use HiRemote or the original Hisense remote.
